We offer two cooking days. The first is the holiday cooking day held each November. The participants choose a pumpkin or apple pie. We follow our SPARC recipes, which include washing, peeling, and slicing our own apples. Everyone takes home a pie to share with their family for Thanksgiving. Everyone is pretty excited to take home a pie to share, and most pies don’t last long enough to be served at Thanksgiving dinners. The second baking day is our winter cooking day when SPARC becomes a pizzeria. Each baker makes a homemade crust, spreads sauce and cheese, and chooses ingredients to top the pizza. Gluten-free pizzas are also an option for the pizzeria. The pizzas are sent home to share with families and friends.
As a volunteer, you will work one-on-one with participants during any or all of SPARC's programs, help at seasonal events, and more!
